Q: What kind of clothing is accepted?

A: Animals America accepts clean, new and used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. Shoes, jewelry, and fashion accessories.

Q: What condition must the clothing be in?

A: Animals America accepts clothing in all conditions. We repurpose clothing for resale and recycling in order to fund our lifesaving programs. Clothing in great condition is put up for resale while clothing of lesser quality is sent for recycling. The largest program impact comes from clothing for resale while the lesser comes from recycling. Though both are greatly beneficial in providing life saving services to animals in need. Every bag of your unwanted clothing can change an animal’s life!

Q: How do I order a donation kit?

A: It’s as simple as clicking on the “Order a Donation Kit” button on our organization website.

Q: Will I receive verification of my donations for tax related purposes?

A: If you would like a receipt for your clothing donation, please fill out and return the postcard included in your donation kit, along with your clothing donation. A receipt will be emailed to you in approximately four weeks.

Q: I have a large donation. Do you provide pick up services?

A: At this time Animals America can only provide pick up services for large donations within a fifty-mile radius of our main office in Pittston, PA. If you are within the area stated, please feel free to give us a call, and we can arrange pick up service.

Purchasing from Our Store

Q: Am I helping animals by shopping on your site?

A: Yes! Every donation and every purchase works to fund critical lifesaving services to animals in need in abuse, crisis and disaster situations. As a supporter of Animals America, you can help fight abuse, stand up for animal welfare, and provide animals in need with another chance at life.

Q: How do I know what condition an item is in before I purchase it?

A: Animals America only lists items for sale in two conditions. New with tags or gently used. New with tags are items that were donated without ever being worn with original tags still attached. Gently used items are items that were donated after use in like new condition. Free of stains, tears and defects.

Q: What does the strikethrough pricing next to an item represent?

A: The strikethrough pricing is the estimated original retail price of the same or of a comparable item in new condition. Though we do our best to be as accurate as possible we suggest doing your own comparison shopping, as well.

Q: What forms of payment are accepted?

A: Animals America accepts all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

Q: How do I contact customer service?

A: You can contact customer service by email at CS@animalsamerica.org. A customer service agent will get back to you within twenty-four hours.

Q: How often is new inventory added?

A: Animals America adds new inventory daily.  We advise shoppers to check back frequently to see new arrivals as most items we receive for resale are limited to one of a kind. 

Shipping and Returns

Q: Do you accept returns?

A: Due to the nature of our organization Animals America is unable to offer cash or credit card refunds. All sales are considered final. That said, it is very important to us that everyone enjoy their shopping experience with our organization. So, although we are unable to refund monies, we do have a program in place to issue a store credit. Please refer to our return policy. 

Monetary Donations and Monthly Giving

Q: After I’ve made an online donation how can I make changes or update my account? (i.e. donation amount or credit card number?)

A: Very simple. Just give us a call at (570) 569-2629. We will be happy to help you make any needed changes. If we receive your change prior to the current months processing deadline we will be able to initiate the change in the current month. If not, the change will not take effect until the following month.

Q: What if I need to stop reoccurring donations?

A: Reoccurring donations can be stopped by calling our main office at (570) 569-2629. Please note depending on the time of month of your call cancellations may occur during the same month or the following month.

Q: Will I receive verification of my donations for tax related purposes?

A: All monthly donors will receive an annual statement for tax purposes during the month of February reflecting the prior year’s contributions.

Q: When will my credit card be charged for monthly donations?

A: Credit cards will be charged on the initial date of your first donation then on the 15th of each month thereafter.

Q: Can I donate by check through the mail?

Q: What else can Animals America accept as a donation?

A: Animals America can accept special gifts including cars, trucks, boats, savings bonds, bequests from wills, retirement assets, life insurance, and bank and investment accounts, payable upon death or transferred upon death. It’s these types of special gifts that allow for major program growth. If you are interested in donating a special gift to Animals America, please contact us directly at (570)-569-2629. We would also like to suggest contacting your tax advisor, attorney or financial planner to discuss your individual needs and address any concerns.
